About Chef Andrea Davis

MEET ANDREA

Chef Andrea Davis, a native of San Diego, weaves her love for Southern California into all of her truffle creations. From partnerships with local craft breweries, produce suppliers and even boutique salt manufacturers, you can taste the difference these quality ingredients make.

ANDREA’S STORY

From an early age, Andrea found a love for food with help from her grandparents. They instilled a passion for cooking which led Davis to the California Culinary Academy—she graduated in 1999. After graduating, Andrea found her way back to San Diego working as a pastry chef for some of the area’s most well-known restaurants including Pacifica del Mar, La Valencia Hotel, Brockton Villa, Beaumont’s and the Cohn Restaurant Group.

Upon the urging from friends and family, Andrea took her love of crafting chocolate truffles from a hobby to a business. In February on 2012, Pannikin in La Jolla approached Andrea in hopes of selling her truffles at their restaurant. Soon after, she began working the popular Carnitas Snack Shack to create a special bacon whiskey truffle. And that is how Andrea’s Truffles was born! Since those early days, Andrea has been trufflin’ throughout San Diego and Orange counties. In 2015, she partnered with The Patio Group to continue her work creating locally sourced and hand crafted truffles. This November, Andrea’s Truffles celebrates it’s 5th anniversary.

 

INSIDE ANDREA’S TRUFFLES

Andrea has long been dedicated to using only the best, most sustainable ingredients for her products. Beer is sourced from local craft breweries like Mike Hess, Mission, Monkey Paw, South Park; coffee is obtained from local roasters like Dark Horse; local salt is hand-harvested by La Jolla Salt Company, and fruit is procured from San Diego’s Specialty Produce.  These collaborations continue to lead to amazing new, seasonal creations like Vanilla Bean Lemon,  Dark Seas Beer + Raspberry Jam, Pumpkin Spice with Bourbon + Orange, and Malted Milk + Donuts. Andrea’s Truffles is truly the best of San Diego dipped in decadent chocolate.
